A Complete Brand Revamp for a Hollywood Casting+Production Company

Scope of Work: Strategic rebranding, website copy/messaging, newsletter building, social media, collateral material design, casting notice design. (Website Design by InteractUX).

For ten years, Hollywood Casting and Film (HCandF) operated as a casting+production studio in Los Angeles. However, when the pandemic struck in 2020, HC&F decided to adopt a business model that didn’t require a “brick and mortar” studio. Instead of offering a facility for casting and on-location shooting, HC&F began producing high-quality short films, written and directed by artists from HBO and Showtime, as a way to create elite creative projects that brought experienced artists together.

The Relaunch

In relaunching the HC&F brand, Headspace had three primary goals-

a) Change HC&F’s branding in order to appeal to a higher level of acting talent.

b) Create a way for HC&F to inspire actors to apply for jobs (submit to roles) with regular frequency.

c) Invent an exciting way to highlight the talent of the writers and directors who were casting actors in HC&F’s short films.

the work

When Headspace began working with HC&F, the average casting website didn’t look much different than a typical jobs website, like Monster.com, or Career Builder. As a result, our brand revamp involved redefining the way actors learn about new jobs/roles all together.

Headspace made it fun, exciting, and inspirational for actors to apply for jobs.

Headspace created mailouts and job notices for The Slate, designed to increase interest in the company’s productions.

Headspace created messaging designed to attract an entirely new clientele for The Slate.

Style+Substance

We loved working with The Slate, because it gave us the chance to take an exciting service, and give it the presentation it deserved. By arriving at the right corporate messaging, and by re-designing The Slate’s casting notices, we helped take Theslate.tv from a conventional jobs provider to an elite company that attracts a more experienced/advanced customer base.
